Have fun with fonts. Designed business cards for @whiskygingerxo recently. Had them printed on a flat black, with bright white letters.
Recently Stevie and I redid our studio space, upstairs. Built a new work bench for her from a small old dresser from Michigan along with some old metal legs. Had to strip, sand and stain the dresser. The light color wood after sanding was lighter than we hoped, so we stained it a dark brown. The outcome I’d say is pretty unique.
It’s about that time to release a new character. By popular demand, I bring you “Ewoky Kitty” to add to the Hello Wars collection. (teaser - ewoky kitty available end of the month via @hellowars)
It’s official. Just added some wood-working services to the Whisky Ginger website. Some of the things I hand make. http://www.whiskyginger.com/services.html
Found some time last night to finish up my suitcase speaker set. Took some old speaker towers, broke it down, and installed them into suitcases.
Worked on this ammo box end table. Refinished, fixed the hardware and gave it done sexy legs. She opens up too so you can hide your toys.
Whisky Ginger showcased it’s first 2nd Friday event. Couple days before I realized we didn’t have a main table to use. So I built one out a random door and some reclaimed old growth wood.
Wrote up this chalkboard message for the Whisky Ginger debut, Chicago’s Art District 2nd Friday gallery walk in Pilsen. Inspired by Dana Tanamachi - http://www.danatanamachi.com (I’m far from her skill level with a chalk)
Been starting to work with my hands again. Feels good to step away from the computer for a bit to build something the old fashioned way.
Halloween 2011/ house warming/ engagement party all at once. Proposed in costume.. She said yes! How could she not when I was bleeding from the neck?
First 4-color shirt I’ve done. They were made for the last Renegade Craft Fair in Chicago a few weeks back. This one is titled, “Dark Side”.
Has been a busy time of the year again getting ready for the Renegade Craft Fair in Chicago with my Hello Wars line. The show was a huge hit! Couldn’t have asked for better weather and fans of the line stopping by!
A few photos I edited recently from my June 2011 Portland, Oregon trip. My girl and I love that place and can’t stop going back.
Recently created another character for Hello Wars. The official “Royal Kitty”, a mash-up of the Imperial Royal Guard and Hello Kitty.
